I worked as a WordPress developer for Attorney Guide Pro, a legal services directory platform designed to help consumers in the United States quickly connect with local attorneys and law firms. The platform operates similarly to a specialized Yellow Pages for legal professionals, covering a wide range of practice areas including Personal Injury, Family Law, Divorce, and Bankruptcy, among others.
One of my key contributions was the development of a custom WordPress plugin that integrated the Google Maps API with the platform's attorney listing system. This plugin enabled users to search for legal professionals by entering their zip code and visualize nearby attorneys directly on an interactive map, displaying each firm's location, area of practice, and contact details in real time. The integration consumed the platform's business data API to dynamically populate and update map markers, ensuring that directory listings remained accurate and geographically relevant.
In addition to the mapping functionality, I developed custom post types, taxonomy structures, and search templates to support the directory's legal category system, allowing users to filter attorneys by their specific area of law. I also worked on responsive front-end components to ensure a consistent and accessible experience across all devices, supporting the platform's mission of removing barriers between consumers and the legal representation they need.
