I worked as a WordPress developer for Health Guide Pro, a healthcare provider directory platform built to help consumers across the United States quickly find and connect with local medical professionals. The platform functions as a specialized directory — similar to a digital Yellow Pages for the healthcare industry — covering a broad range of medical specialties including dentists, physical therapists, veterinarians, and many more.
One of my key contributions was the development of a custom WordPress plugin that integrated the Google Maps API with the platform's healthcare provider listing system. This plugin allowed users to search for medical professionals by entering their zip code and instantly visualize nearby providers on an interactive map, displaying each practice's location, specialty, and contact information in real time. The integration consumed the platform's business data API to dynamically populate map markers, keeping listings accurate and geographically relevant for users across the country.
In addition to the mapping functionality, I built custom post types, taxonomy structures, and search templates to support the platform's specialty-based directory system, enabling users to filter results by medical category and find the right provider for their specific health needs. I also focused on responsive front-end development to ensure a smooth and accessible experience across desktop and mobile devices, in line with the platform's commitment to making healthcare discovery simple, fast, and free for all users.
